$41.06 - $47.72 (inclusive of 25% casual loading) + superannuation.

Glen Street Theatre is a busy 400 seat professional theatre, located on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, at Belrose in the Glen Street Cultural Hub.  The theatre delivers an engaging annual performing arts program for all ages and tastes.

Our opportunity:
We’re looking for a motivated and skilled Theatre Technician to join our technical services team. This hands-on role involves working across all areas of live production, including lighting, audio, vision, and staging. You’ll be part of a collaborative, professional environment, supporting a broad range of productions and events.

 

The key focus areas of this role include: 
• Rig, patch and operate theatre sound, lighting, vision and fly system to ensure efficient and high-quality event service delivery.
• Interpret and maintain show specific documentation such as technical plans, patch sheets and cue sheets to ensure accurate event delivery. 
• Complete all post show reporting requirements in required time frames to ensure on time financial settlements.
• Act as chief warden or warden when emergency procedures are activated ensuring safety of patrons, performers and co-workers. 
• Maintain venue condition on a day-to-day basis ensuring the spaces are fit for client use.
• Work collaboratively with all the venue services team ensuring an integrated and high-quality customer service delivery. 

 

About you:
We’re looking for a Theatre Technician to join our Glen Street Theatre team. You’ll bring technical expertise and a collaborative mindset to a team passionate about making a difference in our community.

 

The ideal candidate will have:
• Experience working in a theatre, live performance venue, or similar environment
• Working knowledge of lighting, sound, or AV systems used in live production
• A proactive and team-oriented approach to problem-solving
• A strong commitment to safety and venue procedures
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude under pressure
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including evenings and weekends
