Work Experience & Placements
Work experience and placements are a great opportunity to work alongside people who are passionate about making a difference in the community. Due to the variety of work at Council, we offer a diverse range of work experience opportunities. Find out more about the business units that make up our organisation structure.
Work experience is generally for a short period of time (usually one week) and provides an opportunity to gain experience and exposure to Council operations.
Work placement is again for a short period of time, but usually taken in a block (e.g. daily for 2 weeks, or as 1 day per week over a period of months). The placement is a mandatory requirement of a course being studied at school, TAFE or University.
How to apply

- A resume telling us a bit about yourself, and any work experience you’ve had
- Start date and length of the program you’re proposing
- Name of the business unit you would like to be placed in or provide us with an idea of the kind of work you would like to experience
- Documentation from the institution through which you’re applying. Please note that you must include:
- Placement documents
- Insurance documents (Certificate of Currency)
