Glen Street Theatre is a busy 400 seat professional theatre, located on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, at Belrose in the Glen Street Cultural Hub. The theatre delivers an engaging annual performing arts program for all ages and tastes.

Our opportunity:
We’re currently looking for casual junior theatre technicians to join our technical team. This is a great opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about live performance, is technically minded, and keen to learn more about how shows are brought to life behind the scenes.
As a junior technician, you'll support the setup, operation, and pack-down of lighting, sound, vision, and staging equipment. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals and help deliver a range of live events in a friendly, fast-paced environment.
The key focus areas of this role include:
• Assist with rigging, and patching of theatre sound, lighting, vision and fly system to ensure efficient and high-quality event service delivery.
• Operation of theatre sound, lighting, vision and fly system to ensure efficient event service delivery.
• Assist with interpreting and maintaining show specific documentation such as technical plans, patch sheets and cue sheets to ensure accurate event delivery.
• Act as a warden when emergency procedures are activated ensuring safety of patrons, performers and co-workers.
• Assist in maintaining venue condition on a day-to-day basis ensuring the spaces are fit for client use.
• Work collaboratively with all the venue services team ensuring an integrated and high-quality customer service delivery.
About you:
We’re looking for someone who:
• Has a genuine interest in theatre, live events, or technical production
• Has some hands-on experience with technical equipment (even through school, TAFE, uni or volunteer work)
• Is reliable, eager to learn, and a good team player
• Is available for casual shifts (including evenings and weekends)
