Title: Engineering Intern, Temporary - Full-time Role, 35 hours per week

Salary Range: $24429.6 to $62358.12 per annum + super (subject to skills and experience)

Transport and Civil Infrastructure is responsible for the provision, management and maintenance of urban infrastructure and the delivery of transport, traffic and urban infrastructure projects and services. Transport and Civil Infrastructure has both internal and external clients and provides service across a range of functional areas including:
• Transport Network Planning & Traffic
• Transport and Civil Infrastructure Asset Management
• Community Transport, Parking & Fleet 
• Construction and Maintenance of Civil Infrastructure 
• Business Operations

Our opportunity:
The key focus areas of this role include: 
1) Supporting the Traffic Engineers and Traffic Officers in completing traffic investigations and administrative servicing of the Local Traffic Committee.
2) Investigate and respond to customer requests relating to the traffic engineering functions of Council.
3) Assist with the preparation of instructions for signposting and linemarking works arising from traffic committee resolutions and other traffic investigations as directed by other Transport Network team members
4) Assist with approvals for traffic permit applications assigned to the traffic team 

 

About you:
We’re looking for a student currently undertaking a Civil Engineering Degree to join the Transport Network team for a six month internship. The successful applicant will be keen to work in local government and have an interest in Traffic Engineering.  You’ll need to be able to work 4 to 5 full days per week and bring self-motivation and a pro-active approach to a team passionate about making a difference to our community.
