The Information and Digital Technology Unit within the Northern Beaches Council is responsible for the delivery of services that support the operational activities of the Council, enable delivery of services to the community by the various business units and allow direct access to information and services by the community.

Our opportunity:
The key focus areas of this role include: 
1)    Implement and support Cloud Solutions particularly within the Azure ecosystem. This includes installing, configuring, and maintaining virtual servers and cloud infrastructure.
2)    Managing cloud migrations from on-premises server and fileshare environments
3)    Managing and maintaining on-premises servers, computer infrastructure, virtualization platforms (VMWare), Enterprise storage, backup and data replication solutions (including Veeam and Zerto).

4)    Work collaboratively with other SMEs to provide technical input and manage the migration of applications to the Cloud.

 

About you:
We’re seeking a hands-on Systems Administrator to join our Infrastructure Operations team. In this role, you’ll bring your experience across on-premises and cloud environments to help us deliver reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure services. You’ll play a key part in pro-actively maintaining a stable environment and supporting cloud migrations.

We use a broad range of tools and technologies to support our Infrastructure environment. We do not expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;
•    Experience in Azure Cloud Environments
•    Experience with platforms such as Veeam, Zerto and VMWare
•    Good to have certifications like Azure Fundamentals, Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Administrator
•    Be familiar with ITIL Framework
•    Be familiar with how security is important in an infrastructure environment (Essential 8 maturity model)
